People Matter IW Pair of adults walking in a path, one with a walking stick

Listening to service users People Matter IW is a User Led Organisation on the Isle of Wight whose aim is to provide information and support to all those with support needs and make sure they can stay living in their own homes as long as possible. We do this through facilitating Learning Disability Partnership Group meetings and the Autism Partnership Board.

By listening to people who use services, People Matter IW identified gaps and have supported the setting up of Autism Inclusion Matters (AIM) on the Island and a Learning Disability Support Centre where students are supported to achieve ASDAN Awards to help them live independently, keep safe, relationships and volunteering. The people on the Island have truly led the provision from the start.

People Matter IW also set up the Personal Assistant Recruitment and Employment Service (PARES) where they employ Personal Assistants on the behalf of the person requiring support, they are registered with the Care Quality Commission and support people to get support when they need it with the person they choose. Rated Good in all areas with the CQC.
