Tell us a bit about yourself:

I am Southampton born and bred, I have worked in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector since the late 1990s. I am currently the CEO of Southampton Voluntary Services, the city’s local infrastructure organisation. Over the years, I’ve held a variety of roles that have deepened my understanding of the sector and strengthened my commitment to local communities. Outside of work, I volunteer as the trustee chair of SoCo Music Project.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about tackling inequalities, enabling community action and harnessing the power of collaboration. These have been guiding principles throughout my career. I believe that when people come together with a shared purpose, we can create lasting change and build stronger, more resilient communities.

Why did you want to be on the HIVCA Leadership Committee?

My interest in the HIVCA Leadership Committee is driven by a commitment to ensure the VCSE has a strong voice in the health system, and an opportunity to work collaboratively with NHS partners. My main area of focus for HIVCA is liaising with the different “places” within the ICB area, to ensure advocacy for these voices.
